Exploding the moment!

I was fourteen years old possessing a mind that was filled with naive thoughts and emotions. I felt like I resembled a cheetah, untouchable as well as unstoppable. Without a care in the world, I never imagined there would be a bump in the road. As a result of being unprepared, I had to learn the hard way. I had never dealt with the heartbreaking emotions that were about to unravel within me.

Tomorrow

Given the choice between yesterday and tomorrow, I would without a doubt pick tomorrow. This week has been strenuous due to an overwhelming amount of homework and tests. Luckily, I managed to finish all of my assignments. Be that as it may, I would not choose to relive the lack of sleep and long study hours the past couple of days have brought me. My latest stress has resulted in a fight with my mother. Every time I have talked to my mother this week, I have been in an awful mood and have shown her no respect as my elder. This has temporarily hurt our relationship, which has made me realize that I need an attitude adjustment pronto! This is why I pick tomorrow, tomorrow brings change. Tomorrow, I am going to change my outlook on school work and the way I treat the people I love. I will make schedules so I do not feel so overwhelmed, and I am going to call my mother and apologize. Yesterday is gone, but change is a day away.

September 11th

September 11th, 2001 was the most traumatic event I have ever lived through. This day will forever affect me as well as millions of other Americans. I do not remember much about that day because I try to block it out to the best of my ability. Some memories are not ones we tend to hold on to. All I recall is that I was in fifth grade, and was immediately taken out of school by my mother once the news of the terrorist attacks broke out. I did not lose any loved ones. However, shortly after my cousin was sent over to Iraq to fight. He was gone for a total of three years. Words cannot express how much I missed him over that hard time period. He has returned, and I am so appreciative that he is safe and sound. Through this national hardship, I believe our country has learned to be more cautious and less naive. I hate that millions of lives had to be lost in order for us to learn this lesson. Be that as it may, I am very impressed by our nation's ability to carry on. I am honestly proud to say I am an American.

Personal Narrative

Writing is a very challenging task for me, but for some reason the personal narrative came easy to me. I actually enjoyed the assignment because I know my story better than anyone else's. When you put the criteria up on the board for the personal narrative, I instantly knew what I wanted to talk about. I hold my essay topic very close to my heart, and could probably write more than four to five pages on it. My topic makes me who I am today, so I hope you enjoy reading it. I tried to use a lot of detail, but one of my concerns is that I did to much "tell" and not enough "show." However, my main concern is that my writing is not at the level it should be. My English teacher last year only made us write four papers the whole entire year. As a result, I do not have much practice. I will be looking forward to reading your constructive criticism so that I can improve my personal narrative.

Dear GCSU students,

A famous guest speaker is coming to our campus next Spring, Brad Pitt! This is a once an a lifetime opportunity, and all students should come out to see him! He is a very well-known American actor, film producer, and has been named one of the world's most attractive men (for all you ladies)! Pitt has been in many famous films such as, Troy, Mr. and Mrs. Smith, Oceans eleven, and many more. He has been asked to talk about all the different things he does with his time. From charity work, to films, to family life. All of this will be very insightful, so do not miss out! I hope to see you all there!

Dr. Leland letter

Dear Dr. Leland,

It has come to my attention that GCSU is looking for recommendations for an enjoyable event to host next Spring. I believe that GCSU should get Brad Pitt to show up for a guest appearance on campus! He could speak to students about his experiences with charity, and knowledge of acting. After all, our college is known for its outstanding liberal arts program. He would by far be the best candidate to invite to our campus. With his growing stardom, many different groups of students would come together for this one event. Pitt, founder of the "Make it Right Foundation" which helps hurricane Katrina victims, could encourage students to get involved in social issues and charity work.
